About This Product
■Summary
The shearography system is highly mobile and can quickly inspect the entire field of view with just turnkey operation, and can perform non-destructive and automated monitoring of structures. The standard measurement area is A4 size. The sensor part can also be attached to a vacuum hood. Dynamic excitation allows for uniformity of defect stiffness and parameters, making quantitative judgment possible. The equipment for dynamic excitation is contained within the rack unit.
■Measurement principle
Shearography is becoming a popular metrology technique in the field of non-destructive testing (NDT). When shearography is used for non-destructive testing, defects are identified by non-uniform deformation gradients due to external loads or stimuli. ISI's highly sensitive shearography allows the use of very compact and non-destructive loading systems.
Tubes and tanks are loaded by internal pressure. Other components require vacuum chambers, vacuum hoods, and surface heating with IR lights or hot air. Dynamic excitation is a completely unique technology. Defects can be seen as non-uniform deformation gradients. Depending on the spatial distribution of deformation, defects or structures can be identified by shearography.
■Dynamic vibration method
Dynamic excitation is a special technique for non-destructive testing and verification of material properties. A small, portable piezo exciter can locally excite defects such as cracks, delamination, and poor adhesion. Vibrations caused by local geometries allow defects to be visualized in just a few seconds by sweeping the frequency. It is especially suitable for composite materials with honeycomb sandwich structures that are difficult to achieve using other methods.
