About This Product

■Summary

Optical fiber strain sensors are compact, highly accurate, can measure strain in high temperature ranges, are not affected by EMI/RFI, and can be measured in highly corrosive environments, making full use of the latest technology that will support future strain measurement. This is a sensor. Fiber-optic strain sensors can now measure strain even in environments that are difficult to handle with conventional sensors. Thermal effects are much better than traditional electrical strain gauges. More specifically, the residual strain is typically controlled to just 0.5 μ_/°C or less over a wide temperature range. The measurement principle is designed based on the concept of Fabry-Perot interference (FPI). Basically, an FPI consists of two opposing mirrors, and the space separating the mirrors is called the cavity length. The light reflected within the FPI is wavelength modulated according to the cavity length. In other words, the strain transmitted to the gauge changes to various cavity lengths, which are detected as strain by the conditioner. It is also important to note that the input fiber is mechanically separated from the strain-sensing fiber. This design ensures that the strain-measuring cavity length is not affected by input fiber effects caused by adhesive use or manipulation. This is very useful, for example, when fixing to composite materials. Furthermore, we offer a variety of conditioners depending on static and dynamic measurements and number of channels. All fiber optic sensors (temperature, displacement, pressure, strain, load) have the advantage of being compatible and compatible with all conditioners. This allows us to offer a wide range of measurement plans based on reliable optical fibers that utilize state-of-the-art technology.
