About This Product

All materials have a fundamental constant known as the dielectric constant. This device measures the increase or decrease in capacitance through the dielectric constant of all materials. This transducer eliminates all of the problems associated with conventional capacitance measurement, enabling measurements unaffected by changes in the material's conductivity. A typical application is a moisture meter. This has proven to be relatively easy to measure because water has a higher dielectric constant than other common materials. However, this device was developed for a wider range of applications. For example, if the capacitance obtained when mixing equal amounts of liquids A and B, each with different dielectric constants, in a 1:1 ratio is used as the reference value, the capacitance value will change if the mixing ratio of liquids A and B changes. By setting the reference value to the capacitance value of a material manufactured under normal conditions, changes in physical properties due to abnormalities such as the inclusion of foreign matter or anomalies in the mixing state can be detected in real time in-line, making it useful for quality control.
