About This Product

■Product features

The Kubiaka Guard Net is a net designed to prevent the intrusion, spawning, and escape of the "Kubiaka Tsuyaka", which is a natural enemy of rose family trees such as cherry blossoms, peaches, and plums.

■Ecology of the long-eared longhorn beetle

・Habitat: Widely distributed in southern Russia, Mongolia, China, and the Korean Peninsula, and has invaded Japan as an invasive species. ・Body length/color: The adult body length is approximately 2.5 to 4 cm, the entire body is black and shiny, and the thorax (pronotum) is red. *Males have longer antennae than females (about twice the body length)

■Early detection measures are essential

A large amount of frass eaten by the larvae is excreted at the base of the damaged tree, so if you find it, take early measures. We recommend installing a black-and-white guard net to prevent the seeds from scattering from damaged trees and from laying eggs on undamaged trees in the surrounding area. The black-necked beetle has a strong reproductive capacity, and there are concerns that the damage will expand in the future. Since they are diurnal and active during the day, damage can be reduced by catching and killing them immediately when spotted.

■Basic construction methods for tree protection

・Straight wrapping specification: Installation method when wrapping around trees with no branches ・Multiple main branches connected wrapping specification: Installation method when wrapping around trees with multiple main branches *When winding the net, in order to prevent spawning from the outside and chewing from the inside, please float the net so that it does not come into close contact with the tree as much as possible. Features of Kubiaka Guard Net

■Detailed measures to control spawning and invasion of undamaged trees

0.4mm mesh to prevent ovipositor intrusion.

■Black color with excellent visibility and easy detection of adult insects

It blends easily into the landscape and matches trees.

■Lattice weaving of white reinforcing polyethylene thread improves durability and workability.

The lattice lines every 10cm will serve as a guide when cutting.

■Kubiaka guard net Other applications

Kubiaka Guard Net has a track record of being used for the following purposes other than countermeasures against Kubiakatsuya Clam beetles. ・For preventing oak bark beetles from penetrating and escaping, which causes oak wilt in oaks, Japanese oaks, oaks, etc. *If the purpose is to prevent the escape of oak beetles, the net is wrapped twice. ・For preventing the invasion, spawning, and escape of Kosuka moth, which damages trees such as peaches, plums, plums, and apricots. ・For preventing the invasion, spawning, and escape of the olive tree weevil, which damages olive trees.
