About This Product

■While ensuring airtightness, it is moisture-proof in winter and breathable in summer.

VCL Smart® is a renewal product of "Tyvek® Smart". While ensuring airtightness at all times, it has the same moisture-proofing properties as a moisture-proof sheet in the winter, and provides moisture permeability like a moisture-permeable tarpaulin sheet in the summer, suppressing condensation and mold inside the wall. "Smart Vapor Barrier". The installation method is the same as that for regular moisture-proof sheets.

■Moisture permeability resistance value for each absolute humidity

VCL® Smart coats DuPont™ Tyvek® with a special resin that changes depending on humidity conditions. This special feature lowers the moisture permeability resistance during hot and humid summer conditions, allowing moisture inside the wall to escape indoors.

■Improved workability

VCL Smart® is a translucent, variable moisture permeable, airtight sheet, so it has significantly improved workability compared to conventional products.

■Need for smart vapor barrier

In the future, highly airtight and highly insulated homes will require airtight sheet construction even in warm regions. However, with regular moisture-proof sheets, there is a risk of summer condensation. Even in cold regions, if the initial moisture content of the wood is high, there is a risk of mold from getting stuffy in the summer. Therefore, the smart vapor barrier was developed.
