About This Product

■Tyvek® Silver was developed with the concept of heat shielding homes in mind. You can rest assured that the heat shielding function of the Tyvek® brand is extremely durable.Tyvek® Silver is a heat shield sheet made by vapor-depositing aluminum on Tyvek®, a high-density polyethylene nonwoven fabric, and applying an antioxidant resin coating to each fiber to prevent aluminum from deteriorating. Unlike other companies' products that simply sandwich moisture-permeable aluminum between thin waterproof films, this is a strong product with little deterioration in heat shielding and waterproof properties even after long-term use.

■Tyvek® Silver has a reliable 20-year warrantyDuPont™ Tyvek® is the first in the industry to offer a 20-year warranty, and with regard to waterproofness, we guarantee the physical properties listed on the right for 20 years. Tyvek® boasts a 30-year track record since its launch in Japan, and has been subjected to numerous actual building sampling tests and 30 years worth of durability tests, so you can rest assured with a 20-year warranty. Additionally, DuPont™ Tyvek® Silver is made from Tyvek® with aluminum vapor deposition and anti-oxidant resin coating, making it even more durable.
*However, the above warranty shall not exceed 21 years from the date of product manufacture.

■Single-layer structure made of tough material for high durabilityThe major differences between Tyvek® Silver and other companies' products are "waterproofing durability" and "heat shielding durability." Tyvek®, the base material, uses a unique flash-spun manufacturing method to create a fiber structure in which many micron-sized fibers overlap, allowing moisture to pass through but not water. While the entire fiber of Tyvek® functions as a waterproof layer, it is difficult to create a waterproof layer using just the fibers in similar products, so a film is used to form the waterproof layer.

If this thin film deteriorates due to heat or ultraviolet rays, its waterproof properties will decrease and it will no longer be able to protect your home from rain over a long period of time. Additionally, each fiber of Tyvek® Silver is coated with an antioxidant resin to prevent aluminum from deteriorating due to oxidation. This allows for a significant difference in heat shielding durability while maintaining moisture permeability.
