About This Product

■Transcription activation by various transcription factors (TFs) can be monitored with a luciferase reporter

The artificial promoter region in stable cell lines for TF luciferase reporters consists of repeats of multiple cis-element TF binding sites, DNA fragments of promoter regions of known TF downstream genes, or DNA fragments containing putative and known TF binding sites. . TF activates luciferase through extracellular stimuli and intracellular signaling pathways. Once activated, TFs translocate to the nucleus and often interact with associated cofactors to promote gene expression. When luciferase is expressed, it produces light in the enzymatic assay, and the amount of light measured is directly proportional to the level of TF activation.
