It has excellent reproducibility because it does not consume oxygen. On the other hand, when using a membrane electrode to measure dissolved oxygen in a beaker, the measured value gradually decreases as the electrode consumes oxygen.

Measurements can be made even if there are air bubbles or sludge. It is also virtually unaffected by interfering substances such as hydrogen sulfide and pH fluctuations.
