About This Product

There is a growing need to use carbon fiber composite materials such as CFRP and CFRTP, which have a specific gravity one-fourth that of steel and a specific strength ten times that of steel. It is now possible to fasten these next-generation materials with tap pins. Prevents delamination of CFRP materials, has good screwability and high breaking torque.

■Tapping fastener

A self-tapping fastener that screws directly into CFRP or CFRTP with pilot holes drilled.

■Measures against delamination

One of the challenges when connecting CFRP with tapping is to prevent delamination that occurs when the threads penetrate into the laminated materials. In response, we developed a new screw thread shape to achieve fastening that does not cause delamination.

■Appropriate breaking torque and screwing torque ratio

Thanks to the newly developed thread shape, it can be screwed into CFRP with an appropriate screwing torque and a high breaking torque can be obtained. This makes it possible to set a fastening torque with sufficient margin for actual use.
