About This Product

This product is manufactured and sold by Yamashina under a license agreement with EJOT of Germany. This is a self-tapping screw for light alloys such as aluminum and magnesium.It has a very high axial force and can provide a fastening force equivalent to or greater than that of a bolt. There is little decrease in fastening force due to environmental changes.

■Sharp thread

It has a 33 degree acute angle thread shape. This reduces resistance when screwing in. In addition, the mating material easily flows into the large grooves, forming a good internal thread. This also improves repeatability.

■Cross section of a perfect circle

The cross section of the screw is a perfect circle. Although the resistance when screwing in tends to be large, the action of the 33-degree acute-angled thread allows for low screwing torque. After seating and axial force is generated, this perfect circular cross-sectional shape increases the contact area between the female thread and the flank surface, resulting in extremely high axial force.

■Female thread forming by plastic deformation

By screwing into a pilot hole, the female thread is formed by plastic deformation of the mating material rather than cutting.

■Total cost reduction

Since the internal thread processing process such as tapping and cleaning can be reduced, processing oil, tap fees, and processing costs required for this process can be reduced. This reduces the total cost of installation and reduces the cost of manufacturing the product. In the future, the station required for tapping will no longer be necessary, making it possible to reduce capital investment and make effective use of factory space. In addition, the cost of countermeasures against loosening and diagonal jamming, and the cost of countermeasures against spatter when used on welded nuts can also be reduced.
