About This Product

Tapping bolt for metal. This is a best-selling tapping pin for metals that has a long history and extensive mass production experience, and is standardized and used by some domestic automobile manufacturers. The tip has a shape that allows it to be screwed in while making three-point contact with the prepared hole, achieving low screwing torque.

■Basic shape that can be screwed in with low torque

There are three flutes at the tip of the screw. Generally, in order to obtain low screw-in torque, it is considered best to form a female thread while contacting the pilot hole at three points, and this three-thread flute achieves this effect. In other words, it has a basic shape that allows it to be screwed in with low torque.

■Detent effect

The three-flute shape of the screw cross section has unidirectionality with respect to the direction of rotation, and also has a detent effect.

■ Strong against loosening

In the screwing process, the internal thread is not created by cutting, but is created by plastically deforming the mating material. For this reason, the fully threaded part has a high degree of adhesion with the female thread, making it extremely resistant to loosening due to vibration. Even if the seat surface were to float and the axial force was lost, the risk of the screws loosening and falling would be reduced.

■Effects of screwing in with low torque

1.It is easier to set the target torque for fastening against the breaking torque. 2. Screwing is possible even if the pilot hole is somewhat narrow. 3. When using hand tools, the burden on the worker is reduced. 4.The burden on the screwdriver and bits is reduced, extending their lifespan. 5. Increases work efficiency and leads to improved productivity.
