About This Product

Although Delta PT® is a self-tapping screw for resin, it has the concept of holding the connection using axial force like a bolt, and can obtain high fastening force. It has good repeatability and can be used to fasten parts that were impossible with conventional tapping. Taking advantage of the high axial force, it is also possible to reduce the size of the screw.

- For fastening bolts that need to be held with high axial force. ・When tightening is repeated many times, such as when removing the casing. ・For automotive parts such as inlet manifolds Product features

■Screw thread shape - excellent repeatability

The sharp thread of the compound angle reduces the volume for forming the female thread, resulting in low screwing torque. Additionally, since the resin flows smoothly into the thread trough to form the female thread, heat generation can be suppressed and resin creep can be minimized. A well-finished internal thread allows for repeated use.

■Lead angle and pitch

It has a lead angle and pitch that allows a large contact area to be obtained for the same hanging allowance. This allows a large fastening force (axial force) to be obtained and maintained even with low surface pressure.

■Screw thread cross section and stress distribution

The screw cross section is perfectly circular, increasing the contact area with the mating material. Additionally, the shape disperses stress, making the boss less likely to crack.

■Heat treatment and strength

Temperature hardening minimizes the risk of brittle fracture. The strength classification is 10.9.
