About This Product
Yamashina has been working on the development of aluminum bolts for nearly 10 years. After much trial and error, including benchmarking European examples, developing shapes to increase resistance to stress, researching surface treatments, and researching cold working conditions, we are currently in the process of mass production, focusing on A6056 and A7050 materials. I'm arranging it.
■Main uses
- Lighter weight
・Measures against electrical corrosion and loosening when the mating material is aluminum
Product features
■Material
We mainly offer A6056 material, which is a material that has been used in European and American automobiles. It is a safe material with low risk of stress corrosion cracking, rather than unnecessarily claiming high strength. For applications other than automobiles, we also have a track record of mass production of A7050 and A5052 materials.
■Tensile strength
The tensile strength of A6056 material is approximately 410Mpa to 420Mpa, but the bolts processed by our company using this material have a tensile strength of approximately 450Mpa. This is the strength that can be obtained by devising the shape, heat treatment, and manufacturing method.
■Manufacturing technology
In general, aluminum materials have poor elongation, and cracks and cracks will occur if they are cold-worked under the same conditions as iron bolts. We have developed special processing conditions for aluminum bolts that do not cause these problems, and have manufacturing technology that allows us to provide shapes similar to iron bolts, such as hexagonal flange heads.
■Conclusion know-how
We have a lot of knowledge about mechanical properties such as the effect of heat on bolt strength and fatigue strength, as well as methods for controlling friction coefficients. In addition, since the strength of the material is different from that of steel, it is necessary to develop various methods of fastening in order to achieve such fastening, but one of our strengths is that we have a lot of know-how in this area through many years of research.
■Example of weight reduction
The specific gravity of aluminum is approximately one-third that of iron. In the case of fastening using 20 bolts with a diameter of M8 and a length of 80 mm, the weight will be reduced by approximately 170 g compared to the example using iron bolts, although it depends on the shape.
