About This Product

Solven 4500 is a non-PFOA solvent water and oil repellent guard agent that imparts flexibility and provides a higher level of water and oil repellency protection to silk kimono fabrics than conventional PFOA products. This product has very little odor, is easy to use, and completely dissolves in odorless, non-aromatic petroleum solvents such as New Sol Deluxe and Bright Sol. Specially designed to prevent static sparking during use.

■Precautions for storage and handlingThe solvent it contains is a dangerous petroleum solvent (class 4 petroleum class 2, flash point 42°C or higher). This product is used by diluting it with a flammable solvent such as Brightsol, so please be careful of fire, ventilation, and handling when using it, and use a protective system such as a solvent mask, gloves, apron, etc. After use, waste liquid and especially these empty cans are extremely dangerous, so be sure to stopper them, avoid heat sources, store them in a cool, dark place, ask an industrial waste company to dispose of them, and strictly follow the rules for handling hazardous materials.

■Features・It is the only existing non-PFOA type that provides excellent water repellency that is better than PFOA.
- Sufficient performance can be obtained by natural drying.
- Fewer fires caused by static sparks at low humidity.
・The texture of the cloth becomes slightly softer due to the treatment.
・Since the solvent contained is mainly non-aromatic petroleum-based, the product has little odor.
- Excellent product storage stability even at low temperatures of -20°C.
・A wide variety of processing methods such as padding, printing, and spraying are possible.
・A large amount of glue and fabric softener adheres to fabrics, especially Chinese products with fine patterns on the back of the body, and pigment-printed fabrics may not have the same guard performance. This is a drawback of these materials themselves. In this case, run the cloth through an empty dryer before processing, or try processing it twice with this agent.

■ApplicationsTextiles (especially for Japanese kimono, silk, and wool)

■How to use・We recommend using a pad, spraying and drying, hot water over 80℃, or heat treatment with an iron. Polyester and nylon can be heat treated at a temperature of 180℃.
・Processing Pad, natural drying (silk 100℃ x 20 seconds) (others 150℃ x 20 seconds)
・Solven 4100 is used as a wash-resistant guard agent for polyester and nylon.
・Solben 6124F used in Solcan and Bartrel's fluorinated solvents.
・New substance Solven 7000 is used as a non-fluorine and non-silicon water repellent.
