About This Product

Pao.Hotspot" is a tool that turns your computer into a WiFi wireless LAN router. This function is similar to tethering on smartphones and iPhones. Since you can set the function to automatically turn on the Wi-Fi when it is disconnected due to no communication and the no-communication timeout value, you can continue to transmit Wi-Fi from your computer at all times.

■Function/development backgroundThere are many apps available around the world that allow you to use your computer as a WiFi wireless LAN router or perform tethering on your smartphone, and starting with Windows 10, mobile hotspot functionality is included as standard.

On the other hand, many apps that use SoftAp, which is a feature of Windows 7 or later, often do not work properly depending on the environment, and Windows 10's mobile hotspot automatically shuts down after a period of time without wireless LAN communication. There is also the aspect of turning off the mobile hotspot.

We created this tool because we needed something that could be used on both Windows 7/8/8.1 as well as Windows 10 without the negative effects mentioned above. Pao.Hotspot automatically detects both SoftAp for Windows 7/8/8.1 and mobile hotspot for Windows 10, and has the ability to set the mobile hotspot timeout value and turn on the mobile hotspot again when it times out. This allows you to use your current computer as a more stable WiFi wireless LAN router than ever before.

■Operating environment・Windows7 or later
- .NET Framework 4.5 or higher must be installed. (It is included by default in Windows 8 and later, so it is OK.) If it is not installed on Windows 7, you can download it from the Microsoft site by searching your browser for ".NET Framework 4.5.1 download."
