About This Product

Defoamers and defoamers prevent and eliminate air bubbles, improving manufacturing processes and providing excellent surfaces and optimal product properties. BYK defoamers are used in various fields. There are mainly following types. Silicone antifoaming agents, mineral oil antifoaming agents, polymer antifoaming agents. Product data ■Composition Mixture of foam-breaking polymer and hydrophobic particles, silicone-free ■General properties The values ​​listed in this data sheet are representative values ​​and are not quality standards. ■Food contact applications Please contact us for the latest legal compliance status for food contact applications. ■About storage and transportation Store and transport at temperatures between 0℃ and 40℃. Separation may occur during storage or transportation. Stir well before use. ■Application field paint ■Features BYK-011 is suitable for defoaming for water-based (and UV-curable) paints. This additive is silicone-free and mineral oil-free. This additive is particularly suitable for water-based two-component polyurethane systems and prevents foam formation when hardeners are added. BYK-011 is also suitable for clear coating and can be used for defoaming of ultrafiltrate. ■Recommended addition amount For water-based 2-component polyurethane systems, 1-2.5% additive to the total formulation. For other water-based paints, 0.1-1.5% as an additive to the total formulation. Please use the addition amount as the initial value. Please conduct actual tests to determine the optimum amount to add. ■Addition method This antifoaming agent can be easily added without paying special attention to dispersion. Can be added to letdown or millbase. ■Features BYK-011 is a silicon-free antifoam agent for care products and cleaning products. It exhibits excellent antifoaming properties during the manufacturing process, and its effects persist even after application. ■Recommended addition amount Please apply 0.3-1% addition amount as an additive to all formulations as an initial value. Please conduct actual tests to determine the optimum amount to add. ■Addition method This additive is most effective when added at the time of formulation, but it can be added at any stage of manufacturing.
