About This Product

BYK's rheology agents provide improved processability and excellent storage stability, and some products also have the ability to adjust film thickness. Rheology additives can significantly improve performance in a wide range of applications. However, individual solutions and optimal formulations of rheological properties are required to achieve the required performance. For example, increasing storage stability requires different viscosity performance rather than increasing layer thickness.

Viscosity at low shear requires a different approach than increasing contact resistance. Furthermore, it is essential to select the optimal additive depending on the polarity, such as solvent, non-solvent, or water-based. BYK offers a wide range of additives that can be applied to a variety of systems and polarities. These include layered type, associative thickener, and high-performance additives such as synthetic hectorite. It is characterized by high compatibility and transparency.

■Features
This rheology additive improves the orientation of effect pigments and reduces unevenness. At the same time, the sedimentation of the paint during storage and processing is reduced. This additive is less sensitive to co-solvents than urethane thickeners and is much easier to add and handle (ready to use) than clay and acrylic thickeners.

AQUATIX 8421 is highly effective in improving the rheological properties and brightness of effect pigment slurries without co-solvents.
