About This Product

This is a product adapted for civilian use based on technology developed by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). Mist is a new environmental product that can be used for humidification, cooling, air purification, etc. as it is a small droplet that will not be destroyed or wet even when it hits an object. It is a two-fluid water spray humidification system, and the CO2 emissions required for humidification are less than 1/20th compared to steam-type humidification. ■Development background

Clean rooms for semiconductors, FPDs, etc. require air conditioning and humidification throughout the year to control temperature and humidity, and they consume approximately 10 times more energy per floor area than general office buildings. In winter, when it is necessary to humidify the outside air in a clean room to indoor conditions, and when high-precision humidity control of ±5% is required, steam humidification is usually used. As a way to implement such high-precision control while saving energy, we have developed a water spray humidification system that uses high-pressure air and pure water by repurposing the technology developed by JAXA.

■System overview

This system consists of a two-fluid nozzle that sprays mist, a control valve that controls the amount of water sprayed, a humidity sensor, a pump, and a control device. The average particle size of the mist sprayed from the two-fluid nozzle is 5 to 20 μm, and by establishing a time-proportional control technology for the ON/OFF humidification valve, highly accurate humidity control is possible.

■System features

・Excellent energy-saving effect: By using the heat generated in the clean room to directly vaporize the mist, it reduces steam humidification in the outside air conditioner. It also leads to a reduction in the energy consumption of the refrigerator, resulting in double energy savings. ・Low CO2 emissions: Comparing the CO2 emissions for humidifying 1 ton of water, the steam type produces 160 kg-CO2 per year, while this system produces less than 1/20th the emissions. ・Excellent controllability: For high-pressure fluid nozzles, where it is difficult to continuously control the amount of spray, we use our unique time proportional control technology to ensure excellent controllability. ・No leakage of water droplets: Our unique technology prevents the leakage of water droplets from the nozzle, which conventionally occurs when starting and stopping spraying.
