About This Product

■Removes oxygen from the gas stream.Oxygen is the most important impurity in a gas stream. Even in minute amounts, it is a great enemy to capillary columns and polar packed columns. Oxygen oxidizes the stationary phase at high temperatures, causing column bleed and poor retention.

Oxy-Trap™ removes oxygen from inert gases to <1 ppb levels. The amount of oxygen that can be collected is temperature dependent. At room temperature, one bottle adsorbs and collects approximately 180cc (STP) of oxygen.

■CautionThe filled adsorbent generates heat. Do not remove, transfer, or regenerate the adsorbent. Oxy-Trap is intended for use with instrument carrier gases such as hydrogen, helium, argon, and nitrogen.

Do not use with gas streams containing more than trace levels of oxygen. The adsorbent used in this product traps oxygen through an exothermic reaction, and when exposed to gas containing more than trace levels of oxygen, it generates excessive heat, which can damage the entire trap.
