About This Product

■Silica gel G, GF (with fluorescent indicator = GF)

This is the most widely used silica gel TLC plate. Since it does not contain organic substances, it can be carbonized and colored with sulfuric acid. Since the calcium binder is water-soluble, it is not recommended to use more than 20% aqueous solvent in the developing solution. In that case, please use the water-resistant hard layer GHL or GHLF series. This plate is usually used to scrape off the portion containing separated components from the glass support and elute it for other analysis.

■Preparative TLC plate

The layer thickness of preparative TLC plates is thicker than 250 µm and is used when separating larger amounts of components. While maintaining a constant resolution, the sample charge amount increases by approximately √n times as the adsorption layer thickness increases by n times. In preparative TLC, the sample is charged as a band rather than as a spot. After development, the adsorbent is scraped off in areas containing specific compounds, and the components are eluted with a strong solvent.

■Notes

Due to the nature of the plate, the soft layer coating may peel off during transportation. If there is peeling of approximately 0.5cm from the edge of the plate, it is considered to be a good product. Thank you for your understanding.
