About This Product

■Summary

E&C VHP-FL is an absorber block with a flat top that is designed exclusively for the floor of E&CVHP and used as a walking path to the anechoic area (quiet zone, area where the test object is located) in the anechoic chamber. . It consists of a VHP body material and a wedge-shaped hard foam material that fills the pyramid's valley. The blocks are covered with a highly flame-retardant PVC skin.

■Main uses

E&C VHP-FL is a walkway absorber specifically designed to provide a passageway surface within an anechoic chamber. It is a high-performance absorber and is used in anechoic chambers or other places where high absorption performance is required for microwaves. When used in the low frequency range where the rated absorption performance is achieved, in other words, when the thickness (height) of the absorber is less than half a wavelength, the back side must be lined with a metal plate. Factory lined versions can also be provided upon request. In applications where the absorber thickness is sufficient for the wavelength, a metal plate backing is not required.

■Electrical characteristics (reflection coefficient)

The performance of the VHF-FL specific type corresponds to the performance of the original VHP on which it was manufactured, with the following limitations: Same performance in UHF band. 10-15dB drop in microwave band. Also, the performance in the high frequency range is limited to -35db for all types.

■Dimensions/Type

There are several types of VHP-FL corresponding to VHP as shown in the table above. Each block is rectangular with a PVC skin covering the top and sides. The back side (bottom side) is the bottom side of the two VHPs used to make the block, with the skin on the sides slightly extended to the bottom side.

■How to use

VHP-FL is designed for floors and can be left in place on the floor or glued using E&C Adhesive 13111. This adhesive easily bonds to metal, wood, and common plastics and plastic composites. We recommend using VHP-FL sparingly in an anechoic chamber. Keep walking paths to a minimum and place them along the walls, not in the center of the darkroom. Approach the signal source (transmission location) and the anechoic area from the side or rear; avoid placing the VHP-FL between them.
