About This Product

■Summary

E&C SPY is a high-performance pyramidal radio wave absorber made from lightweight open-cell foam and designed for medium power densities. The shape and electrical properties are equivalent to those of E&CVHP.

■Main uses

E&C SPY is suitable for medium power density applications. Compared to E&C VHPs, it has a more open-cell structure with better air circulation between cells and maintains a reasonable average temperature when exposed to moderate power densities up to 8 kW/m2. For higher power density applications, we recommend the E&C HFX-HC pyramidal absorber with honeycomb structure.

■Dimensions/Type

The thickness, shape and electrical properties (reflection coefficient) of the SPY match those of the respective type of corresponding VHP. There are three standard types: SPY-9, SPY-12 and SPY-18.

■How to use

Can be attached to structures using contact adhesives such as E&C Adhesive 13111. In this case, you can make the bottom harder by applying adhesive several times to the bottom of the absorber and letting it dry. We recommend using mechanical attachment to strengthen the bond. The method of piercing plastic pins or hooks is particularly effective in promoting air circulation inside the absorbent.
