About This Product

■Summary

E&C VHP is an internally filled (not hollow), pyramid-shaped, carbon-filled urethane foam absorber. The main uses include building an anechoic chamber, or covering measurement equipment and antenna support mechanisms inside the anechoic chamber to suppress unnecessary reflections. It exhibits the highest performance broadband frequency characteristics among various absorbers, not only for normal incidence but also for a wide range of incidence angles. The suffix NRL means it meets the flame retardant requirements of Test 8093 by the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL).

■Main uses

E&C VHP's excellent performance in the microwave frequency range makes it ideal for antenna, RCS (radar cross section) and EW (electronic warfare) related anechoic chamber construction. It was originally designed for low scattering, that is, the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection, but it also exhibits good backscattering characteristics at oblique incidence. Therefore, it is suitable for use throughout the radio wave guidance room. Product types are available in a variety of thicknesses, allowing you to choose the type that best suits your specific frequency range and angle of incidence.

■Dimensions/Type

All E&C VHP types have bottom dimensions of 61cm x 61cm. There are 8 types in total, ranging in height from 5.6 cm for VHP-2 to 114 cm for VHP-45. The number of pyramids per pyramid increases as height decreases, keeping the aspect ratio of each pyramid fairly constant regardless of type. The reflection coefficient with respect to frequency depends on the height, and the higher the absorber, the better the absorption characteristics at low frequencies. In addition to the standard type, we can also provide custom-made products with special dimensions and specific reflection coefficients for specified frequencies if we have sufficient quantities. Larger than VHP-45 is also possible. For applications such as EMC where there are weight constraints or high power requirements, hollow absorbers are recommended. We also accept custom-made items such as special absorbent blocks for corners, edges, and edges. These are made from two or three absorbent blocks cut at a 45 degree angle and glued together for use at the intersection of walls and ceilings. We also have VHP-FL, an absorbent material for walking paths that is installed on the floor. VHP material is black. The surface of the pyramid is painted with flame-retardant light blue paint. Uncoated absorbers are particularly important for mmWave applications.
