■TOX®-damper with built-in power package
Contributing to reliable process monitoring for pressing and smooth punching is the integrated adjustable damper function ZED.
A new built-in damper option provides constant adjustment of the cylinder actuation rod during the feed stroke and power stroke, regardless of actuation force. This makes it possible to almost completely eliminate the stick-slip phenomenon during the press-fitting process. During stamping, it eliminates sudden acceleration of the actuating rod when the reaction force disappears.
■Press-fit application
Depending on the application, chattering, the so-called stick-slip phenomenon, may occur during press-fitting. This phenomenon causes the load-stroke amount to fluctuate, making process control difficult.
This chatter also affects the results of the press-fitting process and increases the noise level. The new damper system ZED almost completely solves this problem. The press-in operation is carried out in a controlled manner at a constant speed. The load-displacement relationship can be accurately monitored and evaluated.
■Punching application
The breakthrough that occurs after punching causes a sudden drop in reaction force. As a result, the cylinder actuating rod is suddenly accelerated. The impact of punching increases noise levels and causes premature wear on tools and machines. The new damper system ZED makes the speed of the working rod almost constant. It suppresses the impact at bottom dead center and significantly reduces noise.
