Geomagic FreeformPlus is equipped with dedicated functions in addition to Freeform functions, such as a mold function to support mold creation and reading of DICOM data taken by CT/MRI. This software has a wider range of uses, such as creating molds for organic shape models that are difficult to use with Freeform.
■FreeformPlus exclusive features
Mold function
It is a function that allows you to create a mold model for a completed model, such as automatic creation of parting lines, automatic correction of underparts, and mold division function. Create a mold for the model using the functions necessary for mold creation in order. In addition, for areas that are difficult to create automatically, you can also use the manual surface creation function.
■Dynabot function
This function allows you to record and reproduce operations that can be completed using numerical values or by simply pressing a button, such as moving/rotating a model, creating and moving a plane, and smoothing the entire model. If you have repetitive tasks or operations that need to be performed every time, first let Dynabot record the operations. After that, specify the folder and the numerical values for moving/rotating the model. Finally, making it available for use with other models can reduce repetitive work.
■I/O with Parasolid
In addition to IGES/STEP, it is possible to read and output with Parasolid. Data can also be read as a CAD model and edited using the CAD model creation function without converting it to clay. *It does not support functions for clay models such as carving, scraping, and creating grain.
■Reading DICOM data
DICOM data taken by CT/MRI can be read. In addition, it is possible to extract the necessary parts using thresholds and convert them into 3D data based on DICOM data. Previously, creating custom parts from DICOM data required separate software specifically for DICOM data. With FreeformPlus equipped with DICOM reading and data extraction functions, you can do everything from reading DICOM data to creating custom parts with one software.
