About This Product

<Glass ribbon> is extremely thin, so it can be bent and rolled like resin film. The glass surface is very smooth even though it is unpolished. The feature of this <Glass Ribbon> is that both side edges (both ends) are rounded, making it resistant to bending and twisting.

■Microfluidic chip

A glass ribbon is used as a bulb in the "glass microfluidic chip" developed by RIKEN, an independent administrative agency. Glass ribbons that are ultra-thin at 4 to 6 μm and highly flexible enough to withstand repeated bending have contributed to the creation of microchips that have never existed before.

■Diaphragm

By combining our glass ribbons and ultra-thin glass with laser sealing technology, we can consider applications as extremely small and thin diaphragms. Compared to diaphragms made of resin, this diaphragm is made entirely of inorganic materials and has superior durability. ・Thickness of glass to be sealed: 50μm or less ・Substrate glass thickness: 0.5mm or less
