About This Product

Granular glass for hermetic terminals is available for compression sealing, in which an iron or stainless steel shell is combined with an iron-nickel, iron-nickel-chrome, or Kovar lead wire, and for matching sealing, in which the shell and lead wire are Kovar. Granular glass for supporting parts has standoffs. Granulated glass made from powdered glass has excellent fluidity and filling properties, making it suitable for tablet molding. Usage example

■Tablet molding

The appropriate molding pressure is 8 to 10 MPa. Tablets formed under this pressure have a porosity of 0.35 to 0.37 and sufficient green strength, and the binder can be easily thermally decomposed during preliminary sintering.

■Preliminary firing

Temporary firing is performed in air. Since the decomposition of the binder starts at 150°C and ends at about 530°C, the heating rate in this temperature range must be 15°C/min or less.

■Sealing

Sealing is performed in nitrogen.
