■Leica RM CoolClampThe electrically cooled RM CoolClamp keeps the block cool, eliminating the need for time-consuming re-cooling of specimens after trimming. The universal cassette clamp allows easy attachment to any Leica microtome and maintains a block temperature of 20°C below ambient temperature. Each block is maintained at an ideal temperature, making it easy to prepare high-quality sections for routine, specialty, and IHC/ISH staining in histology studies.

■Stop accurately at the optimal positionThe precise operation of NANOCUT R has been demonstrated in a 3D reconstruction program using High-resolution episcopic microscopy (HREM) by the IGBMC laboratory in France. The reproducibility of the slice thickness and quality (especially the block surface) and, more importantly, the repositioning of the block in 3D mode were tested. In fact, the regularity of the sectioning was efficient, the surface of the block after each slice was very smooth with no artifacts, and the repositioning of the block was very precise, without the need for post-acquisition realignment. allows for immediate 3D configuration of samples. All tested parameters were evaluated as fit for purpose.
