About This Product
Flodex is a simple tool to determine a reliable and reproducible flowability index between 4 and 40 for use as a specification for powder raw materials. This simple test takes into account numerous parameters that affect powder flowability, including particle size and shape, "fineness," unit surface, actual bulk density, porosity, sedimentation, and static electricity.
Flodex provides a simple solution to problems caused by fluctuations in powder flowability. Powdered raw materials vary widely between different suppliers and lots. This variation affects the ability of the powder to flow freely when loaded into manufacturing equipment, impairing the speed and accuracy of the manufacturing process.
Intrinsic's flowability measurement is based on the ability of the powder to freely pass through the holes in the disc. Flodex comes with a full set of discs with different sized holes used to determine this liquidity index and is fully compliant with USP <1174>.
