■Summary
When using structural ceramics as parts, it is necessary to accurately understand the mechanical properties such as strength and toughness of the ceramics. JIS R1607 Fine Ceramics Fracture Toughness Test Method (SEPB method) has been established, which is considered the most important standard for material selection and material improvement.
■Features
1) Test pieces (3mm x 4mm x L36mm) compliant with JIS R 1601 can be used as is. You can also use 18mm after the bending strength test.
2) Processing (introducing) the pre-crack source can be applied to either the mechanical notch method or the Vickers indentation method to test specimens.
3) Detection of pop-in during pre-crack introduction is confirmed using both headphones and an indicator needle, so even first-time users can easily test it.
4) Since the press equipment is a manual pressurization system, there is little noise during pressurization, and the load can be stopped immediately after pop-in is detected.
