About This Product

■Summary

This epoxy-based filling adhesive (mounting agent) is a two-component epoxy resin manufactured by Burnham Petrographic in the United States, and was developed as a mounting agent for polished thin sections of rocks and minerals.

■Features

1) Samples can be mounted uniformly and thinly. 2) The viscosity decreases significantly when heated (60℃), so it can also be used as a filler. (Good permeability) 3) When further heated to 110°C to 130°C, it will polymerize and harden in a few minutes. 4) The adhesive force is very strong because it is made of epoxy resin, and even if it is polished into a thin piece of 0.001 mm, the mineral particles will not fall off. 5) Refractive index 1.54

■Applications

1) A new mounting agent to replace rakesite cement for preparing microscopic specimens of rocks and minerals. 2) A thin section for instrumental analysis and for preparing EPMA thin sections (no toxic gas is generated during analysis).

■Specifications

1) Resin (50ml): 1 bottle 2) Hardening agent (5ml): 1 bottle 3) Mixing container: 8 pieces 4) Syringes: 3 5) Mixing sticks: 5 pieces *Curing agent color: Dark brown (B) and yellow transparent type (C) available. However, type (C) crystallizes depending on storage conditions. If it should crystallize, heat it to dissolve it before use.
