About This Product

■Summary

This is a small vertical axis surface grinder suitable for preparing thin sections of samples for polarizing microscopes (techniques to finish them to a thickness of 20 to 30 μm). Surface grinding is performed using a cup-shaped wheel.

■Features

1) The depth of cut of the cup wheel can be accurately controlled using a dial gauge (minimum scale 0.01mm). 2) The work table has a continuously variable automatic feed system, and the feed speed can be selected according to the machining characteristics of the sample. 3) Flatness is easy to determine, sagging around the periphery is extremely small, and high accuracy can be achieved. 4) Hands are less dirty compared to polishing machines that use powder. 5) Easy to operate, even beginners can perform high-precision plane machining.

■Applications

1) Thinning of silicon, ferrite, YAG, etc. 2) Thinning of apatite, new glass, etc. 3) Preparation of rock and mineral preparations. *Not suitable for ultra-difficult-to-cut materials or samples that require force when processed thinly. Please use it for thinning materials with good processing characteristics. [Standard set example]
