High-performance polymers are used in a wide variety of applications, including automobiles, airplanes, smartphones, and PCs, and the market size continues to expand. However, there have been few compact devices that can observe the fatigue state of polymers at low frequencies (1Hz~). Therefore, Acroedge has released a device that can perform repeated fatigue tests.
■What is Syclus?
Syclus is a compact vibration fatigue tester developed for use with a wide range of materials including textiles, films and rubber. The purpose is to evaluate the lifespan of a product and observe the changes that materials undergo, and by measuring multiple samples, it is possible to obtain information about consistency of quality and the location of defects. Over time, the strength of the material weakens and the strain response changes (different materials have different stress responses). Continue this until the material breaks.
