Using a voltage/current sensor and Raspberry Pi, it monitors the battery voltage of a portable power supply, and if it drops, it sends a shutdown signal to the computer in advance to safely stop it. Battery voltage, current, etc. are constantly sent to AWS IoT and displayed as graphs in real time. CO2 emissions can be reduced by reducing peak power consumption during the day and charging with solar panels. According to our calculations, it reduces household CO2 emissions by 3% (80kg CO2) and reduces electricity costs by 4,550 yen/year. Provided as learning materials for environmental issues in schools and as a CO2 reduction measure for companies.
■Background of UPS power supply development kit sales
The government has declared that Japan will become carbon neutral by 2050, and of the 2019 greenhouse gas emissions (1.2 billion tons), renewable energy accounted for 18%. We will raise the renewable energy rate to 38% in 2030. This time, in order to reduce CO2 emissions from computers and other devices used at home, we have developed a project that utilizes a portable power source (500Wh) and solar panel (120W) to turn it into a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) power source and use it for computers.
