■Product overview
It consists of a Raspberry Pi 3B+ and a lightning sensor (AS3935), and operates with a Python program. You can also notify groups by linking with Line via IFTTT. You can use it simply by connecting to the Internet via WiFi. It will notify you of the distance from the thundercloud and the strength of the lightning, which will be helpful for evacuation.
■Background/Characteristics
Approximately 20 accidents (including several fatal accidents) occur each year due to lightning strikes. Accidents can be avoided if you evacuate when you hear thunder. This time, we are offering an IoT development kit that detects thunderclouds within a 40km range and sends notifications using Line. It is easy to set up, even for beginners, and can be used from permanent installations to mobile devices.
It can be used for events such as golf courses, baseball games, and concerts, as well as outdoor work such as agriculture, forestry, and construction. As lightning season approaches, we pray that lightning accidents will decrease.
