Laboratory environmental monitors (LEMs) provide measurements of atmospheric pressure, ambient temperature, relative humidity, and air density. The LEM transfers these measurements to the PC via an RS-232 or RS-485 interface. All of the above parameters can then be monitored and recorded simultaneously by one to up to eight LEMs using the included software.
Additionally, the included software allows you to use the LEM as a standalone instrument to perform a wide range of functions, including selecting a variety of measurement units, recording data, and more. LEM is an ideal replacement for older data loggers such as mechanical paper recorders.
The software has an option to select data recording intervals of 1 minute, 5 minutes, and 15 minutes. Space-delimited text files keep file sizes small and are easy to insert into spreadsheet applications for data analysis and graphing. LEMs can also perform atmospheric density measurements, an important element for mass calibration labs that correct for air buoyancy effects.
Annual recalibration of the LEM can be performed using the included software. After calibration, the new coefficients are downloaded to the LEM and stored in non-volatile memory.
If atmospheric pressure accuracy greater than 0.04 inHg (1.3 mbar) is required, a variety of digital barometers can be connected directly to the LEM with an RS-232 interface. The LEM transfers atmospheric pressure readings from an external barometer to the PC and LEM via a single communication link.
