About This Product

■Product overviewThe change from OFF (opaque) to ON (transparent) is truly an ``instant''. E-IT GLASS can be used not only as a partition for offices and stores, but also for displaying shop windows and creating spaces for events. Glass has a variety of possibilities, including privacy protection and enhanced security.

Operation is simple and smart as it can be turned ON/OFF with a single switch. Even if it breaks due to impact, it is made of laminated glass, so there will be very little chance of fragments scattering or falling off, making it safe and secure to use.

■Internal structureWhy does it switch between transparent and opaque instantly? What makes this mysterious effect possible is a light control film sandwiched between glass. The liquid crystal molecules in the film are normally arranged irregularly (OFF), which causes light to diffuse, resulting in an opaque appearance.

When voltage is applied there, the liquid crystal molecules align (turn on) and allow parallel light to pass through. This is a mechanism that switches between transparent and opaque.

■Applications/ApplicationsFIGLA E-IT GLASS can be used in various locations indoors. Taking advantage of its ability to instantly switch between transparent and opaque, it can be used to protect privacy in reception rooms, hospital exam rooms, banks, and residential areas. It is hygienic as it eliminates the need for curtains, and is suitable for partitioning factory clean rooms and neonatal rooms.

In addition, E-IT GLASS can be used not only as a blindfold but also as a projector screen. Since it is not affected by the projection angle, it can display clear images even from angles that are difficult to see with conventional screens. Depending on your idea, it can be used for a variety of purposes, such as video presentations in offices, video advertisements for shops, and spatial presentation at event venues.
