Synthetic magnesite MagThermo®
Konoshima Chemical Co.,Ltd.

About This Product

Magnesite is a naturally occurring magnesium carbonate, but our company's "Magthermo" is the world's first to successfully mass-produce it using a synthetic method. "Magthermo", which is made from seawater, has a well-organized particle shape, high purity, low hardness, and high thermal conductivity, making it ideal as a thermally conductive filler.

■Features

・It has a low true specific gravity and relatively high thermal conductivity, so it is used as a thermally conductive filler mixed into plastics, etc. - It is a soft crystal with a Mohs hardness of 3.5, and is characterized by low abrasion (less wear on extruders and molds during molding of plastics, etc.). ・Since it is pure anhydrous magnesium carbonate, it does not contain crystallization water and is stable up to approximately 500℃, allowing it to be applied to high heat-resistant engineering plastics. ・It is a cubic crystal with a small specific surface area and uniform particle size, and has a sharp particle size distribution, allowing for homogeneous dispersion into plastics, etc.

■Applications

・Thermal conductive filler ・Far infrared absorber ・Anti-blocking agent

■Pseudospherical magnesite, spindle-shaped magnesite (development product)

We have developed magnesite with different shapes. Pseudospherical magnesite can be expected to improve filling properties, and spindle-shaped magnesite can be expected to improve mechanical properties.
