About This Product

YSK lock nuts utilize the elastic deformation of the lock nut body to tighten the shaft. This tightening method provides more than three times the tightening force compared to the method that tightens from the radial direction. Therefore, this lock nut is suitable for environments where load fluctuations are large and loosening is difficult.

■Main uses

- Tightening nut for machine tool spindle bearings. - Tightening nut for ball screw support bearing. - Tightening nuts for places that require particular precision or want to shorten adjustment time.

■How to install/remove

After cleaning the male thread, set the YSK lock nut with the tightening bolt loosened. With a gap of 1 to 2 mm between the end face of the YSK lock nut and the other end face, tighten the tightening bolts diagonally and evenly to eliminate any play in the screws. Then, loosen the tightening bolts little by little evenly until the YSK lock nut can be turned without any play. Next, temporarily tighten with an axial force that is 2 to 3 times the required axial force. This is a necessary step for the initial break-in of the YSK lock nut. Then, loosen the YSK lock nut and then tighten it again until the appropriate axial tension is obtained. Finally, tighten the 4 to 8 bolts at right angles and evenly to the appropriate torque to completely secure them to the male screws. To remove, loosen all set screws sufficiently and then loosen the lock nut. *Other model numbers are available.
