About This Product

■Summary

R5405 is an overcharge, overdischarge, and overcurrent protection IC for Li-ion/Li-polymer secondary batteries using a high-voltage CMOS process. It is possible to detect overcharging, overdischarging, discharging overcurrent, and charging overcurrent of 1 cell Li-ion/Li polymer battery. The internal structure consists of four voltage detectors, a short circuit detection circuit, a reference voltage source, an oscillation circuit, a counter circuit, a delay circuit, and a logic circuit. When overcharging or charging overcurrent is detected, the COUT output goes to "L" level after a delay time fixed inside the IC. When over-discharge or discharge over-current is detected, the DOUT output goes to “L” level after a delay time fixed inside the IC. Additionally, when the COUT output is at the "H" level, the test time for the protection circuit board can be shortened by lowering the V- terminal below the shortening mode voltage (TYP.-2.0V). Overcharge detection delay time can be shortened to approximately 1/60. The output format is CMOS output. Packages available are SOT-23-6, DFN (PL) 1616-6, and DFN1814-6.
