About This Product

Dust removal roll for high-speed off-wheels. The performance of Hickey Sweeper remains the same, and it is durable against high speed rotation. Continuously removes hickeys from the plate surface without maintenance.

■Hickey ghost removal roller

Leave it to Hickey Sweeper W to deal with dust and ghosts on the printing plate. We have achieved significant cost reductions by introducing the Hickey Sweeper.

■The oil-based ink roller is Hickey Sweeper WG

Hickey Sweeper WG uses Velograph and Super Press, which generate less heat, as the base rubber, and can be used with oil-based inks.

■Features of Hickey Sweeper

This roller solves the problem of hickeys (dust), which is one of the problems when performing offset printing. By simply removing the ink form roller and replacing it with the Hickey Sweeper W roller, there is no need to stop printing due to dust, and ghosting is greatly improved.

■Why does it remove dust and reduce ghosts?

・The tips of the fibers are exposed on the surface of the rubber. The Hickey Sweeper W Roller does not scrub hickeys off the plate, but rather prevents hickey seeds from adhering to the plate. As the roller draws a smooth sine-like curve on the printing plate, the tips of the fibers slightly protruding from the rubber surface stimulate the printing plate, preventing hickey seeds (tiny objects that cannot be seen) from adhering to the printing plate. That's what I'm trying to do. ・The roller swings sideways. Mere rotation of the rollers has a low coefficient of friction and cannot remove dust. When the rollers are braked and slip, the coefficient of friction increases, but the plate is more likely to be scratched, reducing its durability. The smooth swing of the sine curve provides a sufficient friction coefficient to remove dust, but there is no need to worry about it affecting the durability of the plate.
