About This Product

■Features

・Small yet high torque ・Long life with wear-resistant friction plate ・Increase torque with dedicated power supply (Pargen) ・Excellent performance even inside small robots Working principle

■When the brake is activated (when the coil is not energized)

When the coil is not energized, the movable plate pushed by the spring sandwiches the friction plate with the fixed plate, and the frictional force brakes and holds the rotor hub and rotating shaft.

■When the brake is released (when the coil is energized)

When the coil is energized, the magnetic force overcomes the spring force and draws the movable plate toward the coil, allowing the friction plate to rotate freely.

■Dedicated power supply Pargen operating principle

If the coil acts as an electromagnet and attracts the movable plate to release the brake, the holding power after attracting it will be small. Pargen is a device that temporarily inputs a large amount of power to ensure the release operation of the brake, and suppresses the power in the holding state, thereby reducing the heat generated by the brake. (To prevent accidents, open operation power is applied approximately every 10 seconds.) Pargen specification brakes have a stronger spring, which increases the braking torque, but they cannot be used without Pargen.
