■Cushion coupling
Cushion-type couplings absorb eccentricity, eccentricity, and rotational vibration by deforming a cylindrical cushion surrounded by a protrusion on the hub. The six cushions are completely independent, allowing each to deform most effectively to easily accommodate misalignment and rotational vibrations. There are four types of cushion materials, and differences in hardness manifest as differences in torsional and eccentric characteristics.
■Notes on selection
- Choose a soft cushion (with a small torsional spring constant) for rotating loads with torque vibrations, such as pumps. If you prioritize the size of the regular torque and choose a hard cushion, the base of the hub protrusion may break first due to metal fatigue.
・For the same reasons as above, select a soft cushion for servos, cam drive loads, etc. with large inertia mass, and also ensure a large torque margin.
・If you use it regularly at maximum rotation speed, please reduce the regular torque to 1/2.
- If there is significant eccentricity, declination, expansion or contraction, etc., apply grease to the cushion contact surface.
■Correction for ambient temperature and regular torque
- Correct the torque for regular use based on the ambient temperature.
・The usable temperature for cushions UB, UY, and UR is up to 60℃.
・The usable temperature of Cushion NK is up to 80℃.
