About This Product

■Polystyrene film

Polystyrene is a plastic resin made by polymerizing styrene monomers made from crude oil and naphtha. Polystyrene was first industrialized in 1935 and has a history of more than 80 years. In polymers, the benzene rings are in random positions relative to the main chain. Amorphous (not crystalline). Approximately 12 million tons of polystyrene are currently used around the world. There are two main types of polystyrene: general-purpose polystyrene (GPPS), which is highly transparent and hard, and high-impact polystyrene (HIPS), which has a milky white color and has improved impact resistance by adding rubber components. Polystyrene is easy to process and has good shape reproducibility, so it is used in a wide range of applications such as electrical products, miscellaneous goods, and food containers. In addition, since polystyrene is a material that can be easily foamed, many foamed products are made for applications that require insulation, contributing to energy savings. Polystyrene is allowed to be used as a safe food packaging material under the laws of each country, and in developed countries, 50% of its uses are for food packaging. At our company, we mix GPPS and HIPS in a unique ratio and produce unstretched film using the inflation method.

■Features

・Unlike OPS (stretched PS film), this is an unstretched film (referred to as CPS). -Since it is not stretched, there is still room for the film to stretch when heated, making it excellent in formability in the next process. It can also handle deep drawing that cannot be achieved with OPS film. ・We produce two types of film: a transparent type and a low-priced matte type. ・It is also possible to apply aluminum vapor deposition. ・It is a stiff film that tears easily. - Films that run straight and can be cut from anywhere without notches can be produced. ・In addition, we can also film engineering plastics that cannot be made into films by other companies.

■Applications

・After printing on the back and pasting it with other materials (0.3mm thick sheet, etc.), it is formed into a food container. ・After printing on the back and pasting it with a PS foam sheet, it is formed into a cup ramen container or a tray for sashimi or meat. *Although this is outsourced, we can also arrange the printing process for you. ・Specific gravity is 1.05. Since it sinks in water, it can also be used as an artificial aquatic plant.
