Techwell's TW9905 is a high quality NTSC/PAL/SECAM video decoder designed for multimedia applications. Mixed-signal 3.3VCMOS technology enables low power integrated solutions.
The TW9905's analog front end has three independent analog channels and supports all three analog video signals: composite, S-video, and YPbPr. Up to six composite inputs can be connected at the same time, and inputs can be switched via software.
A simple system design has been realized by having all the necessary circuits in the front end. An AGC and clamp circuit, and three 9-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) convert the input for digital signal processing.
The TW9905 uses a uniquely developed adaptive 4H comb filter that separates brightness and color difference to enable high-quality video. The Nin Linea method performs image correction at a level that is not excessive.
Advanced synchronization provides a stable image even with non-standard video signals that occur during fast-forwarding, rewinding, and pausing.
A high-quality scaler uses a multi-tap polyphase decimation filter to accurately scale down images while minimizing phase errors. It can also be programmed to crop the output image and scale it down by any percentage.
