Multi-standard video processor with RGB mixing and 3D comb filter.
Techwell's TW9918 is a high quality multi-standard comb filter video decoder with RGB mixing and a high quality downscaler designed for multimedia applications.
The TW9918's analog front end is equipped with six independent low-noise analog channels and can support a variety of analog video input standards such as composite video, S-video, component video (YCrCb) and SCART RGB.
TW9918 achieves the highest NTSC quality with a unique adaptive 3D comb filter. The PAL standard uses a 4H comb filter for chroma and luma separation to provide high quality video.
Image correction includes two-dimensional peak control, noise reduction, and color modulation improvement functions. Advanced synchronization processing allows stable image processing even with non-standard signals such as when fast forwarding, rewinding, or pausing a VCR.
The high-quality scaler reduces image multiplexing with a multi-tap polyphase decimation filter. Additionally, it can be programmed to scale down the output image and crop it at any percentage.
