Techwell's TW9908 is a high quality NTSC/PAL/SECAM video decoder designed for multimedia applications. Mixed-signal 3.3V CMOS technology enables low-power integration.
The TW9908's analog front end features six independent low-noise analog channels that can receive a variety of analog video input standards including composite video, S-video, component video (YCrCb), and SCART RGB.
Analog FB support allows mixing of composite or YCrCb/RGBS video inputs. Up to 4 composite inputs or 2 S-Video inputs or 2 YCrCb inputs or 2 SCART RGB inputs can be connected at the same time and can be switched between each other via software.
The front end simplifies system design by including all necessary circuitry. AGC and clamp circuit, six 9-bit analog to digital converters (ADC) convert the input signal to digital signal.
The TW9908 uses a unique adaptive comb filter to separate luminance and color differences, resulting in high-quality video. Image correction includes 2D peak control, noise reduction, and color transient improvement features.
Advanced synchronization processing allows you to display a stable image even with non-standard signals such as those caused by fast-forwarding, rewinding, or pausing video.
High quality scalers use multi-tap multi-layer decimation filters to reduce jagged effects. You can also program the output image to be cropped and scaled down by any percentage.
