■Reliable lightning protection and overvoltage protection

Factories and building infrastructure are becoming increasingly complex. This makes them susceptible to surge damage. Digitalization also increases the number of connections and data streams that must not be interrupted. Ensure system availability, protect against data loss, and increase added value with reliable lightning/surge protection. Weidmüller has been providing standard-compliant lightning and surge protection products for many years and has developed highly reliable customized surge protection solutions. The VARITECTOR series of proven surge protection devices can be used in power systems, I&C components, and data interfaces.

■Energy system compatible SPD

Weidmüller VPUI (typeI), VPUII (typeII) and VPUIII (typeIII) overvoltage protection products are EN60664-3/DIN VDE0110-3 compliant and are protected against transient surge voltages significantly below the limits specified in the insulation adjustment. Effectively reduces coupling that causes interference. This means that the entire system is less likely to malfunction. Adjustment of the arrester is carried out using technical methods. In other words, there is no need to decouple between types I, II, and III. These arresters are tested according to the product standard IEC61643-11:2012/DIN EN61643-11:2012 and installed in systems according to IEC61643-12/VDEV0675-6-12 and IEC62305-4/VDE0185-4. You can This lightning and overvoltage protection device is suitable for installation in mains voltage supply systems. Weidmüller offers a wide range of products for different main equipment types and voltage levels. For photovoltaic applications, special protection is also provided according to EN50539-11/VDE0675-39-11:2010.
