About This Product

■Summary

VeloreX PDV™ is a device for measuring continuous velocity-time profiles of fast moving objects. The product can also be used to measure various detonation properties of high-energy materials and other applications where highly accurate velocity and displacement measurements are important. By tracking target velocities on the order of kilometers per second with nanosecond time resolution, it is possible to measure the detonation properties of high-energy materials. Additionally, high-precision velocity measurements are simple and robust, so there are few constraints regarding the quality of the target surface.

■Usage/Application

Measuring the velocity profile of explosively accelerated materials can be used to determine properties important to high explosives. VeloreX PDV™ offers dramatically improved temporal resolution and velocity accuracy compared to piezo pin and high speed streak cameras.

■VeloreX PDV™ application examples include the following.

・Flyer plate test to measure the detonation pressure of explosives ・Cylindrical expansion test to characterize the expansion of detonation products - Tracking deflection and explosion velocity of structures subjected to blast loads ・Measurement of projectile velocity in impact physics experiments ・Optimization of explosive welding by cladding plate speed measurement ・Vibration observation of engineering structures ・Detonator test
