About This Product

■Summary

A liquid crystal polarization rotator is an optical element that rotates linearly polarized light by 45 degrees or 90 degrees. Conventional crystal rotators have a narrow usable wavelength range and are sensitive to incident angles, but liquid crystal rotators have a wide incident angle and can be used over a wide wavelength range. Please select the model according to the wavelength range and required transmittance. We recommend a dedicated LC driver for the power supply.

■Supports wide wavelength range

The liquid crystal polarization rotator utilizes the phenomenon in which the polarization direction rotates when linearly polarized light is incident on a twisted nematic liquid crystal. This effect has small wavelength dispersion and can be used at wavelengths from 350 to 1,700 nm.

■Easy control with power on/off

The liquid crystal polarization rotator is driven by a dedicated LC driver (power supply) or function generator. The dedicated LC driver is small and lightweight, connects via USB, and controls the applied voltage from software. The voltage applied to the liquid crystal polarization rotator is either 0V or 5V (approximately), and detailed voltage control is not required. Additionally, the LC drive driver comes with DLL and Labview VI for software development.

■Physical and chemical grade and industrial grade

The industrial grade features low cost and a large aperture of 22mm, making it suitable for polarization control and polarization imaging applications. Holder not included. On the other hand, the physical and chemical grade has features such as low wavefront distortion, high phase accuracy, and AR coating. It is also attached to a special holder.

■Features

・Three models to suit different applications ・Wavelength range 350 to 1,700 nm ・Polarization rotation angle: 45 degrees, 90 degrees, arbitrary angle possible upon order (physics and chemistry grade) ・Effective diameter 10 mm, 20 mm (physical and chemical grade) Main uses ・Rotation of polarization direction ・Shutter etc.
